lets talk friendship. Friends are miraculous people.

I think Aristotle hit this one on the mark when he said:
“What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.”
That's some deep stuff. Think about it. People are always going on about how they're in search of a soul-mate.
But...what if we've already found them? Wouldn't it make sense that your soul-mate would be someone that awakens a sense of belonging in you? I imagine a soul-mate as someone who allows some common ground to exist in a world where conflict runs rampant.
I googled the term soul-mate and this is a bit of what I found:
"...Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them..."
Urban Dictionary
"...my research on the meaning of soulmate has shown that we have a number of soulmates, which can be not only romantic partners, but friends and family"
The Soulmate Site
"One of two persons compatible with each other in disposition, point of view, or sensitivity."

I can't speak for everyone but if that is the definition of a soul-mate then I think most of us have already found one if not more in the people we call our friends. They are a combination of our most honest critics, our teachers and our truest loves. They defend our honour without us needing to ask and they protect our dignity if ever we fall short.
Friends should never be taken for granted, on the contrary, they should be celebrated.
As the season of love, family, and thanksgiving grows near; may you all take the time to appreciate the souls that intertwine with yours - your friends.
Peace and love always
